![]() ![]() The 2.3mm supperhoops are better and I prefer the Optimount over the ISS, enough that I upgraded my '96ish set from ISS to Optimounts and replaced the 1.7mm hoops with 2.3mm generics. 50th Anniversary - Masters Series drums made from birch with reinforcement hoops and 24-karat gold-plated lugs. The Sessions line is officially discontinued this year. There were some years in the '90s where they were birch inner/outer & mahogany middle layers(93/94-97/98?), shifted to maple for inner & outer layers (sometime early during this timeframe went to 2.3mm superhoops, previously 1.7mm), then shifted to all maple (along with Optimounts, 2001?), and last 2 years offered as all maple or all birch. It appears you have the Sheer Blue lacquer. ![]() What tom suspension system, Optimounts, ISS, on shell? That narrows down the time frame. The number scheme references no year, month, location of build, nothing. They are merely for YOUR insurance purposes. The Pearl serial numbers on drums other than masterworks (& maybe Reference and extremely limited edition models) mean NOTHING. ![]()
